Hey coffee lover, welcome to the Happiels™ family! Here are some tips to help you brew your perfect coffee with Happiels™ reusable coffee pods.
COFFEE GROUNDS - FINE, MEDIUM OR COARSE?
We definitely recommend that you start with fine ground coffee if you just bought Happiels™ reusable coffee pods - then you can adjust tamping and how much coffee you put into your pod.
Fine espresso blends will definitely be the right choice for you if you prefer your coffee strong.
Use medium & coarse coffee grounds if you like your coffee less strong. These types of grinds definitely require tamping, or otherwise your coffee might come out too watery and weak.
IS TAMPING IMPORTANT?
You definitely have seen baristas pressing that coffee with their tamps before they make you a delicious cup of coffee?
The main purpose of it is to evenly distribute the coffee in the pod as well as compress the grinds to have no air pockets. The secret of brewing good coffee is all about passing hot water through coffee grinds to extract the oils of the coffee grinds completely.
The more fine the coffee, the less pressure applied - if the fine ground is tamped too much the water will not go through the coffee pod.
HOW MUCH COFFEE DO I PUT INTO THE POD?
After you get your tamping right, it is important to understand how much coffee to put into your pod.
We recommend not to fill the pod until the top as there will be not enough space for hot water to go through.
See picture for the reference how much coffee should be in the capsule after tamping.
If the water is leaking from the machine when you're making the coffee it means the water is not filtering coffee grounds: it is either too much coffee in the capsule or it is pressed too hard.
MAKING COFFEE WITH HAPPIELS™ REUSABLE CAPSULE
Happiels™ reusable coffee capsule goes into the coffee machine freely - just like regular pods you have been using so far.
There is no need to check position or slot when putting reusable pod into the machine,
Please remember that Happiels™ reusable coffee capsules are very hot right after you have used them! Please wait for a few minutes after you take them with the hand to use another time.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY REUSABLE COFFEE PODS?
Simply empty the coffee grounds from the pod after you’ve prepared your coffee.
Use the brush (comes with our coffee pods) if needed to get rid of remaining coffee grounds.
Wash it with water by hand or in the dishwasher (top rack).
Make sure there is no coffee stuck in the holes before using it next time.
